Highland Servant Leadership Team

This past Saturday the River Ridge chapter of Highland Servant Leadership traveled to Freeport for our first training.  We learned what it means to be a leader, to be a servant, how to create S.M.A.R.T. goals, and how to best use our personality type to work on a team.    We are currently in the planning stages of our first project which is held annually with the Hanover VFW Ladies Auxiliary.    Please look for information on how, when, and where to donate nonperishable items which will be used to serve the Hanover and Elizabeth food pantries.  Thanks!!

Students were divided into 13 teams and were not able to work with anyone from the same school.  They were then given a pair of scissors, a few sheets of paper, and an arm´s length of tape.  With the materials they tried building the tallest free standing tower.  They only had 15 minutes.

In the end we learned that we we often learn more from our mistakes than our successes, that we must communicate, have a goal, and a clear plan in order to be successful on a team.
